For the tech savvy among us, here are a few apps that might help with your prayer and devotional time.

  1. My favorite prayer app is called the One Minute Pause App. Pause%20App%20small

A simple way to connect with God in the middle of your busy day. From John Eldredge, the New York Times Best Selling Author of Wild at Heart and Captivating.
Based on the One Minute Pause chapter of his new books “Get Your Life Back” and “Resilient”, this app invites you into the simple practice of releasing everything to God, restoring your union with God and inviting him to fill you. The App starts you off with a one minute prayer pause, then moves you to a three minute, five minute, and then ten minute pause. It even has a 30 day resilience journey as well.

  2. The BLESS App is an app I have just started playing with. Bless%20app

Visualize The Impact! The BLESS App is based on time tested B.L.E.S.S Strategy. It is a five-practice approach to evangelism and prayer that encourages people to love their neighbors and live a sent life: B: Begin with prayer, L: Listen with care, E: Eat together, S: Serve in love, S: Share the story

The B.L.E.S.S. strategy is based on the mission to be a blessing to others, as found in Genesis 12:1-3. The goal of BLESS is to inspire people to be the church to everyone, everywhere, and every day. It is a very outreach focused app.

  1. Lectio 365 Lectio%20365

With the Lectio 365 app you pray the Bible by meditating on the scriptures and asking God to speak through them. This is a sustainable and life-giving model of spiritual formation and prayer for ordinary people. Jesus and his early followers paused to pray three times a day, and you can join in with this ancient rhythm and pray like Jesus did, with three short prayer times each day, easily accessible on your phone.

When you pause in his presence, you create space for peace in a busy and complicated world.
